Carolyn Jacobs worked for
The Field Museun for twelve years. During her tenure Carolyn developed and managed publicity campaigns for exhibitions on a wide range of topics including
King Tut, Jacqueline Kennedy, Dinosaurs, Cleopatra, Pompeii, Dead Sea Scrolls, Machu Picchu, China’s Forbidden City, Baseball as America, the Chicago Bears, Star Wars, the Art of the Motorcycle and many more.
Carolyn has produced many large and small scale media events for The Field Museum - booking talent, handling lighting and logistics, scheduling interviews, etc. She has an excellent track record of working with the media to secure local, regional, national and international placements. Carolyn also oversaw the Museum’s video news release and television commercial shoots.
While at the Field Carolyn managed the development of advertising creative and worked to create successful media plans reaching both general and specialized audiences. The plans included a broad range of mediums (print, internet, radio, TV, outdoor).
In addition, Carolyn’s responsibilities included the creation of media kits with up-to-the-minute digital components. She oversaw the design and placement of exhibition rack cards and outdoor street banner campaigns. Carolyn also handled the production of audio and video public service announcements, and was a leading force in the creation of the museum’s monthly e-newsletter.
Carolyn has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Purdue University. She is also a longstanding member of the
Publicity Club of Chicago and the
The American Business Woman's Association.
